The Senior Finance Director Role – Make an Impact with a Fast-Growing Healthcare Company

THE ROLE: 

The Disability Services Sr. Finance Director will partner with the CFO and DS Brand Leadership teams to drive growth through the financial lens.  This individual will lead the Revenue Cycle Management team day-to-day and reporting analysts, while taking on projects related to acquisitions, organic growth strategies, Regional Center contracts, minimum wage analyses, and OPEX management.  This individual will partner with other leaders to benchmark performance against goals, and drive meaningful conversations and analyses that will improve the companies.  This individual will partner and collaborate with the Assistant Controller on monthly reporting and NetSuite related projects, as well as FinOps and FP&A teams to drive budget performance and data analyses to continue growing the business.

  • Partner with finance teams to work cross-functionally with other departments, to create annual budget for topline revenues, cost of revenues, gross margin, and OPEX for DS division.  Reviews monthly PLs and bi-weekly operational reports for performance monitoring.  
  • Topline: Support topline growth through partnering with VP of Community Partnerships to create go-to-market analyses and strategies utilizing Salesforce data, partnering with contracting teams to negotiate rates with Regional Centers, and create and monitor topline KPIs around leads, referrals, conversion rates, census, and discharges.
  • Margin Management: Use financial acumen to manage gross margin.  Perform various analyses around reimbursement rates and the relationships with pay rates to providers.  Manage the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to ensure denials are being resolved and overall DSO is within industry standards.  Manage pay rates for providers for compliance with local, state, and federal rules.  Monitor overtime and other labor burden and effects on gross margin.  Monitors service utilization and other operational metrics which drive growth.
  • Expense Management: Supports the DS division with FTE planning and productivity metric buildout and monitoring, building capacity through offshore team buildout, and vendor management.
  • Compliance: Assists the division with Regional Center contract compliance, minimum wage compliance, and enforces company policy and procedures related to financial transactions.
  • Partner with data team to create new metrics and reports for deeper insights to the business and identification of growth levers, efficiency opportunities, or cost savings.  Creates pro form analyses for IT, marketing, and other cross-functional projects.
  • Partner with CFO to build outsourcing function to offshore team.  Includes liaising with 3rd party vendor, managing communications and performance of vendor, reviewing training and process materials for offshore team, and partnering with other departments who would like to utilize the service.
  • Support the Deals Team with acquisition diligence reviews, including Quality of Revenue, Quality of Earnings, Net Working Capital.  Support CFO with integration playbook post-close, including purchase price allocation and valuation, coordinating with Assistant Controller with transitioning accounting processes to centralized team, GL historical backloads and mapping, and transitioning statistical reporting (M Reports) creation for newly acquired companies to Financial Operations team.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in finance and accounting or related function
  • Experience in healthcare organization or with managed care plans required
  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, economics, or related field, required
  • Experience partnering or overseeing RCM, a plus
  • CPA or MBA certification, a plus
  • Financial leadership within an organization of ~$100mm+ annual revenue
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, Quality of Earnings/Quality of Revenue reviews, EBITDA adjustments
  • Understands SQL queries and an intermediate level, enough to be able to review team’s work product and validate
  • Superior Excel skills, lookups, index/match, pivot tables
